2 games, I upset

Milwaukee Wisconsin provides the first upset.

Is Kelvin Sampson done? I don't mean fired, but they just reported a slew of violations, his program seems to have plateaued, and he's reportedly interested in the Arizona State and Missouri jobs.

Go Pacific! This would be a big coup for Deron.

So far, I'm 2 and 0. I picked BC, but have them losing to Nevada. So I'd just as soon see Pacific win.

  1. so far my bracket is safe--I have BC in the final four . . . (& like Leeroy, I'm 3-0 as of now)

hell of a game, though--good call for Deron anyway; Pacific really challenged

as of now, by the way, Winthrop is up on Tennessee--go Eagles!

  2. this is off topic, but it doesn't deserve it's own post.

Slate with a great riff on Annoying White Guys in college basketball. This, above all else, is my problem with Duke.

  3. I'm 0-3 so far. Two overtimes for Pacific is sort of a moral victory, I guess.

Too bad about OU. I don't know what's going on with Sampson, but "plateaued" is the right word. I had always heard he was in line for Lute Olson's job, but more mediocre seasons like this one and he can forget it.

The decline of the Big 12 continues. I'll be rooting hard for A&M to reverse the trend tonight even though I have them losing.

Congrats are in order to the Wichita St. Shockers, led by mid-80s KU sixth-man Mark Turgeon.

I read the Slate article, CR. I myself am only really annoyed by the prep school pretty boys like Redick or Laettner; MacNamara and Devendorf from the 'cuse have more of a street quality that I don't find so grating--with those tats, I couldn't see them suiting up for Coach K. Same thing with A. Morrison.
