There's no way this happens again in my lifetime. I've been wondering how these teams would match up all year, and now I get to see it on the biggest stage. More to follow on analysis.
Scott's wet dream comes true... Thanks for the screen shot. Aaron, are you out there? Wish I was...
Congrats to Scott's Tigers, who have now won more games than any team in history (!). How cool is that? (Frankly, they've got me a little scared.)
But KU has just made some history of its own -- most wins for a KU team... ever.
Think maybe we've put Roy's ghost to rest?
This team now has to be in the conversation as possibly the greatest in KU history -- and if we win Monday, there will be no debate.
And yeah, Chris -- once again, Shady doesn't do a lot (although he got us off to a good start), but another guy comes through -- Cole lives up to the McDonald's billing.
But when UNC trimmed it to 4? As Vitale would say, "cardiac city!" Credit Self with calming us down, and Sherron and Sasha for making the key plays.
AHHH! This is too much; there aren't emoticons to express how I feel tonight.
Oh my God!
ReplyDeleteOh my gawwwd!

“I’ve seen Bill’s friends, grown men, cry after he lost those Elite Eight games — cry,”
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't always so. Like this game, KU's season has been divided into three parts, as well. There was the beginning, when the Jayhawks were tearing apart OK teams such as Boston College and Oklahoma and seemed to take great pleasure in it. There was the middle, where their attention began to wander and they lost winnable games at Texas and Oklahoma State. And there is now.
"That was an unbelievable performance by -- you know, it wasn't just the starting five," Self said. "There were eight guys that played at a very, very high level for the first 15 minutes of the game. I mean, that was a pleasure for me to watch."
There might have been a moment or two subsequently when Self wanted to hide his eyes. He can look again, now. His team is in the national title game. It was closer for a while than it might have been, but it'll never look that way in the box score.
I credit Chris's 11th-hour flip-flop... That was the key.
