Back Above .500!

The journey back to respectability began Sunday, as the 'Hawks thrashed Towson 87-61. Aside from the final score, other positive signs included:

--26 and 8 from Darrell Arthur

--15 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 0 turnovers from Mario Chalmers

--8 assists, 5 steals, and 7 points from Russell Robinson (pictured getting down and dirty)

Numbers I'm not so happy about:

--5 turnovers from Brandon Rush

--One and a half: that's our current big man depth-chart, with Giles gone, Sasha out, and DJ slightly injured. (No offense, Matt Kleinmann) ...

  1. May I just add, on the happy end:
    Wright: 12 pts (of 5-7 shooting), 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals, and 2 assists, including one beautiful over-the-shoulder, no-look pass to Arthur. . . .
I can't find it online (that pass), but it was exactly the kind of pretty I like to see.

That Arthur kid, by the way, sure looks like the real thing. Haven't seen a post player that good in crimson & blue since Collison.

  2. See highlights here.

Unfortunately, I also haven't been able to find video of that play by Julian, and I didn't see it in real time, either. Can any of our YouTube enthusiasts help with this?

Now, back despite popular demand, this week's Bad Keegan Quote:

"... [P]lease excuse Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self for not lobbying Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to declare today a state-wide holiday because the basketball team Self coaches hustled and stayed mentally checked in for the entire game to defeat Towson University, 87-61, Sunday night in Allen Fieldhouse."

TK's credo: never say in ten words what you could say in fifty.

  3. I didn't get to watch this game, but it looks like we played okay I guess.
