Anyone else see the Oakland game?
X looked much better, and Marcus Morris had a great game: 19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 of 3 from downtown, 5 of 8 at the line, and only one turnover.
Aldrich, on the other hand, was simply manhandled by that Benson fellow...
But on the whole it was a fun game to watch, and it's nice to see that we can win big (against small competition, but still) even with Cole having an unusually bad night.
Anyone else going to watch Tennessee Tech? Let me know if you need a link (shh).
I didn't get to see oakland, but Morris looked pretty good in the Tech game too. Xman pretty much scored at will prompting Dave "Homer" Armstrong to compare him to Paul Pierce.
ReplyDeleteThis Tenn. Tech team (unlike Hofstra) is terrible. They had one little guy (Davis I think ) that shot the ball well and that's about it.
I won't know what to make of this team until we go on the road to UCLA.
[On a side note, I once spent a week on the beautiful (actually not) campus of Tenn. Tech in Cookeville, TN. It was for the "Boy's State" boot camp thing where high schoolers learn to march.
After one kid was sprayed down with a fire extinguisher in a midnight prank, we all got to stand out in the rain in formation while the camp director (an R. Lee Ermey Type) told us that we would stand there until someone fessed up, and that once someone fessed up, that person would be prosecuted. Unsurprisingly, no one fessed up with that encouragement. He also showed us porn posters that someone had in their room and posed us with the existential query: "How would we like it if our Momma was in that poster?"]
By the way, Regarding Dave Armstrong, he is terrible. Somehow, after seeing several great KU plays, he always just says "WOW!" without actually describing or commenting on what is happening. If he were sitting next to me in the stands, I would be tempted to slug him in the face.
