The Tigers are trying to clean up their program, whereas KSU at this point just wants to win, period. They're trading mediocrity for notoriety.

I could understand why Alford would leave Iowa for Indiana, but I don't know why he'd leave for Missouri. Alford's not that great, anyway; if that's the best they can hope for, they might as well hire Mike Davis.DGLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17254846037455114337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23024323.post-1143148853024945272006-03-23T15:20:00.000-06:002006-03-23T15:20:00.000-06:00There's still no confirmation from KSU on this hir...There's still no confirmation from KSU on this hiring, but everyone's reporting it as if it were a done deal. And this from the AP:

"Huggins could be joined at Kansas State by two top recruits. O.J. Mayo, a two-time Associated Press Mr. Basketball in Ohio, said this week he and Bill Walker, his teammate at Cincinnati North College Hill, may sign with whichever school hires Huggins."

Apparently being out of a job didn't keep Huggy-bear from recruiting.

He'll certainly make it easier to hate K-State. This should raise the talent level of the Big 12, but I'm concerned about the brutish, Mad-Max style of play that our boys will have to endure in Manhattan.

Also, Iowa State has hired UNI's Greg McDermott--good move, I think.DGLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17254846037455114337noreply@blogger.com
